Water Leak Detection

Hidden Water Leaks

If you have a water leak emergency, or even just suspect a slow leak because of your water bill, call Plano Plumbers to diagnose the problem and fix it as soon as possible.

A leak in your plumbing system can cause a great deal of damage to your home. The water can weaken the structure of your home, warp floors and walls and ruin furniture and other personal belongings.

The majority of the time, it is evident where a leak in your home is coming from. However, sometimes smaller leaks can be more sneaky. Water hidden inside your walls or ceiling can travel pretty far before you notice, making it even more difficult to know where the problem lies. There can also be hidden leaks that occur in underground pipes, or pipes that run under concrete. The only way to become aware that it is happening is if you notice water pooling in parts of your yard, or notice an increase in your monthly bill.

If you believe that you have a hidden leak, the first thing you can do is make sure that all the taps in your house are shut off and that none of the appliances that consume water are in use. After you’ve done that, check your water meter. If it indicates that water is still being used, you most likely have a hidden leak.
